Job description
The path towards a new era of full autonomous vehicles is already set and the rise of central computing paradigms is accelerating the introduction of new in-vehicle networking (IVN) technologies required for the vehicle of the future, like automotive ethernet and SERDES.
To help us develop these concepts, we @Technica-Engineering are building a completely new engineering team located in Barcelona area, and working closely in contact with company headquarters in Munich. This is going to be an interdisciplinary team composed by hardware and software experts focused in the development of company own product roadmap and ProofOfConcepts and Prototypes for clients, mostly OEMs.
Therefore, to build up this team, if you are interested in vehicle connectivity technologies, central computing paradigms and the new mobility trends we are looking for a passionate hardware engineer specialized in electronics to join the team and help us:
WHAT WE OFFER
- Opportunity to be closer to main market trend in automotive market within a company working as pure R&D partner for main European OEM.
- High diversity of state-of-the-art projects with technologies 3-4 years beyond what is currently in series production vehicles.
- Opportunity to work in an international environment within a diverse team in close collaboration with our Munich offices. International mobility options available to discuss case-by-case.
- Total integration within the product planning team working in close contact with experienced engineers.
- Professional career development plan tailored individually to maximize opportunities of employee growth.
- Opportunity to further expand your training, from personal abilities to technical areas.
- Opportunity to participate in the growth of a new engineering team from the ground up.
- Company culture oriented to research engineering with a clear reinvestment mindset. Company made by engineers and managed by engineers.
- Attractive professional career development inside the HW group
- Additional extra hours as vacation in exchange.
- Regular team building activities with specific company budget.
- 30 working days as holidays, with full flexibility to manage them.
MAIN FUNCTIONS
- Participate in system architecture definition at early project phases and in pure research projects with non-fixed requirements at project kick-off. In this kind of project, be able to give appropriate feedback to customer and internal stakeholders to assure best architecture selection.
- Lead hardware designs, in terms of component selection, schematic creation and PCB layout routing according to the defined processes and procedures. In case PCB layout is done by another engineer or
third-party, give support to PCB team according specific power requirements and EMC good practices. - As a Senior member one of your main tasks consist on support technically but also organizational the other members of the group, focusing also on less experienced members, helping and mentoring them.
- Understand globally product requirements and system architecture with a global view to perform and appropriate hardware design.
- Lead hardware designs, in terms of component selection, schematic creation and PCB layout routing according to the defined processes and procedures. In case PCB layout is done by another engineer or third-party, give support to PCB team according specific power requirements and EMC good practices.
- Be able to make worst case calculation, power deratings & simulations if required to assure design robustness.
- Prepare and execute test plan to assure design quality with specific hardware testing of each block. Perform investigation activities during hardware bring-up and identify and fix problems found on validation or by external parties in the assigned electronic system.
- Prepare EMC/Electrical/ESD test plan and coordinate test activities as well as investigation activities if required.
- Validate and analyze hardware prototype and assure a robust HW-SW integration.
- Technical support within area of expertise to other team members.
- Perform research into new technologies, ideas and trends within your area of expertise and attend relevant conferences or seminars to ensure the organization remains up to date with current technological developments and in the state of the art of all emerging technologies.
- Participate in demos of team capabilities to company management and to customers with creation of prototype setups, sometimes to be presented in fairs where the company is present too.
- Generate accurate periodic reporting of progress and blocking points, to be able to communicate efficiently with the team and with our customers.
