To develop this vision, we @Technica-Engineering built four years ago a completely new engineering team located in Barcelona area, which is working closely in contact with our company headquarters in Munich.

Therefore, if you are an enthusiastic professional interested in being part of a fast-growing company with strong engineering and research culture, we are looking for a passionate Field Application Engineer to join the product team and help us.

MAIN FUNCTIONS

• Identification, root cause analysis and support for problems in test setups, both internally and externally at the customer.
• Get know-how of all Technica product line-up and support customers in getting the best out of our products.
• Work with diagnostic tools at protocol level on Ethernet and legacy buses such as CAN, LIN, ...
• Understand globally customer use cases, vehicle electronics architectures and gather specific requirements in order to provide them solutions to their challenges using Technica products.
• Analyze provided data, configuration files, or traces to determine the problem root cause and provide solutions to our customer problems.
• Build test environments for targeted reproduction of issues for diagnostic purposes.
• Manage issues using the Jira ticket system.
• Perform research into new technologies, ideas and trends within your area of expertise and attend relevant conferences or seminars to be up to date with current technological developments in emerging in-vehicle communication technologies.
• Generate accurate periodic reporting of progress and blocking points, to be able to communicate efficiently within the team and with our customers.

Your day-to-day tasks will include providing technical support to customers and analysing the data provided, be it setup, configuration or trace evaluation, to identify potential issues. You will work closely with our internal engineering teams and be in direct contact with our customers. A certain willingness to travel is expected due to the field work.

SKILLS

• Completed degree or technical training in the field of electrical engineering, automotive engineering, computer science, industrial engineering, or similar educational paths.
• Effective problem diagnosis, analytical and debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills to work in a coordinated manner with various stakeholders.
• Knowledge of different in-vehicle communication protocols like CAN, CAND-FD, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet, SerDes, etc.
• Knowledge of Ethernet protocols like ARP, IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, etc.
• Experience in the automotive industry at Tier-1, Tier-2, or OEM level is desirable.
• Experience with analysis tools and frameworks such as Wireshark, CANoe, or similar is desirable.
• Experience in definition and implementation of automotive HIL & SIL systems is desirable.
• Basic electronics understanding is desirable – capability to understand schematics and use instrumentation for low-level problem debugging.
• Fluency in English is a must (at least B2), German is nice to have. All our customers are from outside Spain.
